If you’re like me you say (or at least think) these words fairly often! There is time pressure on us all, most of the time.
We tend to focus on immediate and urgent tasks, but are they the most important ones?
This month: Make time!
The picture is of Eisenhower’s box, the idea is by placing your tasks in the sections of the box things become easier to prioritise.
Urgent & important tasks get done right away, you know what clients/ matters these are.
Some things can be urgent but not important, like fixing diary appointments or getting emails out, these are often tasks you might delegate to secretarial support.
Things that are important but not urgent is where ‘find a new role to push my career forward’ lies. These tasks can be easily neglected but should not be!
Tasks that are unimportant and not urgent should simply be deleted they will clog your ‘to do list’ and clutter your mind.
This month take the time to focus on those non-urgent, but important tasks. If finding a new role is in that box then get in touch! Whilst you crack on with those urgent and important tasks, I can ensure that progress is made on career development even when your immediate focus is necessarily elsewhere.
