This weekend has been all about fireworks!
So this Sunday I hope that you are relaxing having enjoyed your share.
‘When should I change roles’ is a question often asked by people that I meet, and of course the answer is when it is right for you.
However, this graphic by Vacancysoft (a legal market analyst) really highlights the PQE range most requested by law firms when looking to take on new hires.
This month: When should you change roles?
What is also notable about the graphic is how steady this total domination of the market by the 2-6 PQE range seems to be. Between 2015 and 2016 there was less than 1% change in any of the bands with 0-2 PQE at 12-13% of the market, similar to the 6 PQE+ bracket and then 2-6 PQE taking the lion’s share at 73-74% both years.
This certainly shows that the years to really maximise your career moves are between 2-6 PQE. On paper you will have 6 times more job opportunities to choose from between that PQE range than at any other time in your career. Don’t be scared by this statistic! We help all PQE levels and as long as you let us know your long term career plan we can keep watch on your behalf.
There are always many factors involved but certainly something to add to the equation. We are very happy to have a careers chat with you at any stage in your career to ensure you don’t miss the right role for you when it arises.
