This month has really felt like summer, I hope you have had the time to enjoy it!
Many of you are starting to take your holidays and that can be a great time to take stock of your current role and how it suits your needs.
This Month… What things would you change?
Take a few moments perhaps during your annual leave to think about your current role. Remember that no role is perfect in the same way that no person is perfect. Determine what things, if you had the power, you would change about your current role.
- You may not always have time to do the things that you most enjoy
- You may not be given those things that you most enjoy
- You may wish for a better team structure or to be working away from or with particular people!
- Perhaps you would simply like more money or recognition or progression prospects
Whatever you would most like to change try to brainstorm ways to make it happen: perhaps a chat with the partner in charge or an investigation with HR in your current firm. Whilst not every problem can be fixed to your liking you will feel more in control of your own career for having identified the issue and attempted a remedy. If your current firm cannot provide a solution then when investigating other opportunities be sure to address these concerns at the interview stage so that you continuously improve your working world, to get as close as possible to that elusive ‘perfect’ role.
Once again thanks for taking the time to read this blog.
