Returning to a sense of ‘normal working life’ after a summer holiday can be tough.
Tougher still if your role is no longer what you are looking for!
The question is, can the market support you in making a move?
This month: Legal market overview
The last year has seen some areas change and others remain static. The one thing that has remained ever present is the constant need for commercial property solicitors. For some years now that need has been constant and it shows no signs of changing. Most of the firms I work with would take on a commercial property solicitor if they could find one!
Private client work has also been sought after over the year, especially at the tax/ trusts/ high net worth end of the market.
Employment law has seen a resurgence and there has been roles across the region in that area for the first time in a few years. Likewise family is showing signs of recovery and cautious expansion within some firms. (We can’t list all the vacancies we are working on below but we do have family and employment roles available, just contact us for details)
Litigation is less buoyant but where the roles come through they are often specialised which can make it even harder for generalist litigation solicitors looking to progress.
In house is a rising area and more roles are coming through than ever in that area.
Company commercial/ corporate is also buoyant with particular emphasis on roles in Cambridge and Chelmsford.
Whatever area you work in feel free to get in touch for an informal chat with Ali or myself so we can give you the low down on the local market and how it relates to your career.
If the summer holiday seems just too distant a memory already, remember its only 4 months to Christmas!!
