Broken career promises? Is your role looking more like a relationship gone bad?
Sometimes we need to take a step back and look at things objectively. That includes your current role. If you are suffering from broken career promises here are some positive steps you can take.
This month: Update your CV and your career plan
Take time out to look at your professional self on paper. Keeping your CV up to date is a good house-keeping exercise and shouldn’t just be done in a rush when you are looking for a new job!
Gather some information, get some testimonials from clients at work, blank out the names and keep them with your CV. When you work on an interesting deal, matter or case jot it down on your CV so that you have some way to remember all that great work you do. Don’t forget those successes in marketing or business development too.
Seeing your professional self on paper is a great motivational tool and could be just the “pick me up” you need. By reviewing your achievements and seeing how far you have come, it will help you identify and set new goals. Being stuck in a rut can cause self-doubt which in turn can lead to bad career choices – give your CV a spruce up, banish that negativity and get your mojo back!
