With the courts looking at Skype hearings and systems increasingly cloud based is working remotely the new normal, or will it be soon?
This month: Remote working, does it work for you?
The summer in the sunshine is the perfect time of year to think about working from home. Or even remotely from further afield. Many firms offer home working as an option whether for emergencies or one off events or as a normal part of the week. The advantages are many and varied, everything from requiring less office floor space, reducing carbon footprint and lost hours commuting to having the peace and quiet to concentrate uninterrupted on tasks.
Down sides can be isolation and lack of interaction with your colleagues, but as long as good communication systems exist and everyone is easily able to access them that can be overcome.
Probably the answer, like most things, lies in achieving a balance. Having the ability to work from home allows you that flexibility to get the job done as required and in the most easily accommodated way. Some firms allow home working begrudgingly some actively encourage it, its all about finding an attitude that fits with your own.
So whether you are reading this from your desk, your home or on holiday, if you haven’t found the balance you are looking for in your current role then get in touch.
